The birth of ‘WorldSkoolie’ was a pivot decision.
We had wanted something in our life to change; to be different, but with no action, of course nothing did.
And then we did it! We decided. To pivot.
We’re a Kiwi family of four – two teachers with two kids – and planned to refit a Dennis Dart bus then live in it while travelling around New Zealand for a year together.
The bus is 8 x 2.4m which gives us approximately 20 square metres of home to live in.
That’ll be a huge change from the current 260sqm house.
We will be home educating our children for the first time while exploring all Aotearoa/ New Zealand has to offer.
We’ll follow a world schooling philosophy – learn by exploring and experiencing – as well as some book work.
We’ll be leaving behind amazing jobs, family, friends, a house and be hitting the road to connect more as a family and live a chosen daily life so we’ll be doing more of what makes us happy.
Worldskoolie.com is about us learning, living life and growing closer through experience.
It combines our home education philosophy (world schooling) with living in a skoolie (a bus conversion). Hence world schooling + skoolie led us to ‘WorldSkoolie’.
We believe our pivot will change our lives for the better, give us more quality time together and show us a different way of living: A slower, lower stress pace.
A journey towards a simpler, more intentional, less stressed life…together, exploring our land.
